What is Foster Care Fortnight?

#FosteringMoments

Foster Care Fortnight™ is The Fostering Network’s annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and demonstrate how foster care can transforms the lives of everyone it touches. It is a national campaign supported by fostering services, like Fostering Devon, up and down the country.

The goal of Foster Care Fortnight is two-fold. One, it supports fostering services to highlight the need for more foster carers of all backgrounds and life experiences. Thousands of new foster families are needed every year to care for children, with the greatest need being for foster carers for older children, sibling groups, disabled children and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. We also use it as an opportunity to highlight the fantastic work of our current foster-carers, and use it as a platform for them to share an insight into their experiences.

During Foster Care Fortnight 2024 we want to celebrate the moments that define fostering journeys, big and small. The moments that built confidence, made young people feel safe and created memories.
